TCP Software Unveils Advanced Substitute Management Solution

AUSTIN, Tex.—February 15th, 2022—TCP Software, a leading provider of workforce management and time and labor solutions, today announced it has unveiled a new solution – InstaSub – to enhance and automate absence and substitute management for its K-12 customers. TCP will configure the product to scale, and it will be both integrated into TCP’s cloud-based workforce management software suite, TimeClock Plus, and maintained as a standalone solution. The solution is based on recently acquired technology from Subzz.

Staff absence and substitute management has historically been an arduous, paper-based task for K-12 administrators, often leaving them scrambling to find available substitutes when teachers call in sick, and potentially impacting students’ class time. TCP’s InstaSub solution will automate this process with real-time absence tracking and reporting and the ability to create multiple reports from a centralized location. The solution also offers seamless communication via automated push notifications over email, text, and mobile app to keep all stakeholders, including administrators, teachers, and substitutes, up to date. With InstaSub, administrators can also create a bench of substitutes to tap at a moment’s notice, ensuring no class time is lost. These features mitigate stress, save time, and allow administrators to focus on what really matters—keeping schools running smoothly and safely.

“We recognize the unique challenges K-12 administrators face when it comes to scheduling and managing staff, and communication needs to happen quickly and efficiently to ensure classes are covered when a teacher logs an absence,” said Eric Thurston, President & CEO of TCP Software. “With InstaSub, we will be able to offer the education sector the combination of best-in-class time tracking and scheduling solutions, now including a highly efficient way to manage absences and substitutes. With our team’s extensive resources and knowledge base, we’ll improve upon the technology to best serve our K-12 customers.”

Additional highlighted features of the software include:

  • Lists – ability to create multiple lists of favorite substitutes for different subjects and grades based on their skills and work, and build and maintain a school’s list of qualified substitutes that have been previously approved
  • Hours Tracking – automatically track jobs accepted and hours worked by substitutes
  • Analytics Dashboard – a 360-degree view of employees’ absences– fill rates, top absence reasons, absences by grade level/subject, pending time-off requests and more
  • Shared Calendar – real-time view into which substitute is available, when, and for how long

This solution marks continued growth for TCP Software in its endeavor to offer the best workforce management solutions across myriad industries at scale. TCP customers using its current substitute management solution will also continue to be supported.
